The Recycling Center at Beaver Street
All USERS are required to purchase a sticker for access to the Recycling Center.
Franklin residential stickers are $10 and are available at the DPW Administration Building, Town Clerk’s Office and the Recycling Center.

RECYCLE CENTER DROP OFF DISPOSAL FEES (CASH & CHECKS ONLY)
USER PERMIT FEE: $10.  All users, no exceptions.  FY10 Permits valid July 1, 2009 to June 30, 2010.
CLEAN ASPHALT PAVEMENT, BRICKS & CONCRETE:  $10 per load.
PROPANE TANKS:  $3 ea.-20 lb tanks, $1 ea. -1 lb Do not remove valve. Partially filled tanks accepted.
TELEVISIONS & COMPUTER MONITORS: $15 each.
TIRES: $5 each. Rims are accepted.
FREON CONTAINING APPLIANCES: $15 each. Refrigerators, freezers, ACs, dehumidifiers, etc. Please remove doors.
AUTOMOTIVE BATTERIES:  $3 each.
NO CHARGE FOR THE FOLLOWING MATERIALS AT THE RECYCLE CENTER
PAPER & CARDBOARD: Please break down boxes.  If you can rip it, Recycle it!
YARD WASTE: leaves & grass. Do NOT leave plastic bags at the site.
GLASS JARS & BOTTLES, PLASTIC CONTAINERS:  Lids & labels OK. Please rinse clean.
BRUSH & BRANCHES: No stumps. Maximum diameter is 6 inches.
SCRAP METAL & APPLIANCES: stoves, dishwashers, water heaters, bikes, washers, dryers, lawn mowers, etc.
BOOKS:  Only Soft and Hardcover books, CD’s, Videos, Audio Books, LPs/Records, Textbooks and Software.  All else goes into paper and cardboard dumpster

WASTE OIL & ANTIFREEZE:  Do not mix oil & antifreeze, take containers back with you as trash
FLUORESCENT BULBS: (all sizes accepted) Do not tape bulbs together
CLOTHING DONATION: Shoes, clothes, curtains, sheets, towels etc.  Please bag all items.   Proceeds benefit the Franklin Public Library Fund.  A donation container is also available 24 hours a day at the YMCA on Forge Hill Road.    
MERCURY PRODUCTS:  Thermometers & thermostats.  See Attendant

The following materials NOT accepted for disposal at the Recycling Center:
Household garbage
Furniture
Construction and demolition debris
Liquids and other free flowing materials
Junk automobiles and boats
Tree trunks or limbs over 6 inches in diamter or 6 feet in length
Tree stumps
Closed containers used for shipping or storage of chemicals
Asbestos
Hazardous materials, including radioactive, explosive, toxic or other waste deemed environmentally hazardous by the Massachusetts Dept. of Environmental Protection.
