Franklin Council on Aging Mission Statement:
The mission of the Franklin Council on Aging is to enhance the independence and quality of life for Franklin’s older adults by:
- Identifying the needs of this population and creating programs that meet those needs.
- Offering the knowledge, tools, and opportunities to promote mental, social, and physical well-being.
- Advocating for relevant programs and services in our community.
- Serving as a community focal point for aging issues and as liaison to local, state, and federal resources for older adults and their families.
The Franklin Senior Center offers…
a wide range of programs, services and activities that serve older adults by improving their quality of life. The Center is supported through your taxes, public and private grants, and funding from the Friends of Franklin Elders, Inc. We offer the following:
Cafe serving affordable breakfast and lunch.
Health Screening, Wellness, and Fitness programs.
Social and Recreational programs.
Supportive Day Program offering a supervised, structured and stimulating environment for frail elders, those with mild to moderate dementia or cognitive decline, and those who are socially isolated.
Assistance with accessing social benefit programs such as: fuel assistance, food stamps, etc.
Outreach and assistance to frail, homebound elderly, or disabled residents.
Health benefits counseling (SHINE: Serving the Health Information Needs of Seniors).
Monthly newsletter mailed for free if requested.
Telephone reassurance program.
Senior Citizen Property Tax Work-Off Abatement program.
Free durable medical equipment loans.
